Our Heat-Extraction Process

1

Dry vacuum

We remove loose dirt, sand, and hair first so it doesn’t turn to mud when the fabric gets wet.

2

Pre-treat stains

Each stain gets a treatment matched to what caused it: enzyme cleaner for organic stains, a solvent for grease and makeup.

3

Agitate

A soft upholstery brush on seats and a stiffer brush on carpet work the cleaner into the fibers.

4

Hot water extraction

Hot water goes in and is pulled straight back out in the same pass, taking dissolved dirt and cleaner with it.

5

Rinse and dry

A clear-water rinse pass removes leftover soap, which otherwise attracts new dirt. Then we groom the fibers and leave the windows cracked to dry.

Stain Guide: What Comes Out

StainWhat to expect
Coffee, soda, and juiceUsually removed completely
Mud, sand, and red clayRemoved; ground-in dirt may need a second pass
Food, milk, and kids’ spillsRemoved; milk needs enzyme cleaner to stop the sour smell
Sweat and body oils on seatsRemoved, which also freshens the smell
Grease, oil, and makeupMostly removed with a solvent pre-treatment
Pet urine or vomitEnzyme pre-treatment and extraction; add ozone if odor lingers
BloodRemoved if treated with cold water and enzyme cleaner; older stains may lighten only
Ink, dye transfer from jeans, bleach marksOften lightened, not always removed; we tell you before we start

Seats vs. Carpet: Different Methods

Carpet has dense loops that trap grit, so it gets a stiffer brush and more extraction passes. Seat fabric is thinner and sits over foam, so we use less water to avoid soaking the cushion, which is what causes slow drying and musty smells. Microsuede and Alcantara-style fabrics get a gentler cleaner and a soft brush.

Leather Isn’t Shampooed

Hot water and shampoo dry out leather and can crack it over time. Leather seats get a pH-neutral cleaner, a soft brush for the stitching, and a UV-protective conditioner, which matters under Medford’s long, sunny summers.

Drying Time in the Rogue Valley

Heat extraction leaves fabric damp, not wet. In warm, dry summer weather, seats and carpets usually dry in 2–3 hours with the windows cracked. In cool, damp winter months, allow 4–6 hours or run the heater with the windows open. Avoid sitting on seats until they are fully dry.

When Shampoo Isn’t Enough

  • Flood or leak damage: if water soaked into seat foam or under the carpet padding, the source has to be fixed and the padding dried or replaced first.
  • Mold or mildew: we remove surface growth and odor, but a leak that keeps the carpet wet will bring it back.
  • Deep smoke odor: smoke lives in the headliner and vents as well as the fabric, so pair shampooing with ozone treatment.

Common Reasons Medford Drivers Book

  • Spring mud and wet-dog season
  • Summer spills, sunscreen, and sweat
  • After wildfire smoke settles into the cabin
  • Before selling a car, with our Pre-Sale Package ($269 sedan)
  • Work trucks after a season on job sites or ranch roads

Car Seat & Carpet Shampoo FAQ — Medford, Oregon

How much does car seat and carpet shampooing cost in Medford? ▼
Shampooing of all seats, carpets, and mats is included in our Interior Detail: $120 for a sedan, $149 SUV, $169 truck, and $189 van. It is also part of every Full Detail from $195.
How long do car seats take to dry after shampooing? ▼
Usually 2–3 hours in warm, dry weather with the windows cracked, and 4–6 hours in cool, damp months. We extract again before we leave if a seat is still wet.
Can you get stains out of cloth car seats? ▼
Most everyday stains, including coffee, soda, food, mud, and sweat, come out with pre-treatment and heat extraction. Ink, dye transfer, and bleach marks are often lightened but not always removed, and we tell you before we start.
Do you shampoo leather seats? ▼
No. Shampoo and hot water can dry out and damage leather. Leather gets a pH-neutral cleaner, a soft brush for the seams, and a UV-protective conditioner instead.
Will shampooing remove odors from my car? ▼
Shampooing removes odors trapped in the fabric, such as spills, sweat, and pet smells. For smoke or odor that has soaked into the headliner and vents, add ozone treatment ($79).
Is heat extraction better than a household carpet cleaner or wet vac? ▼
Yes. Heat extraction injects hot water and pulls it straight back out, so dirt leaves with the water. Household machines and wet vacs leave more moisture behind, which slows drying and can cause musty smells.
Can you shampoo just one stained seat? ▼
Spot treatment is included with any interior or full detail. We don’t sell single-seat shampooing on its own, because the rest of the interior usually needs the same attention.
